Duties of The Officers of Planetree Student Committee.Please refer to the form on the left for vacancies.
Activities Officer: The Activities Officer spearheads all activities and events held by the committee. Responsibilities include planning, collaborating, and executing events for SHHS faculty, staff, students, and their families. Further responsible for putting on recurring events, such as the wellness fair and the summer picnic. Administrative Officer: The Administrative Officer is the point of contact for all interested and new members. Responsibilities include recording and sending out meetings minutes, sending out announcements, recording meeting attendance, recording volunteer hours, updating and welcoming new members, informing officers of when new members want to join their committees, updating the calendar of events, and running all votings. Campus Representative: NU Planetree Student Committee strives to have each campus represented and to help each student on each campus feel that they are cared for. The Campus Representative is vital in this aim as they provide the link between the students and life on their respective campus to the leadership of the Committee. Chair: The Chair leads the Student Committee with the assistance of the Vice Chair. Responsibilities include ensuring constitutional updates and compliance, troubleshooting any problems that may arise, sitting on National University’s Executive Planetree Committee, representing students on Sharp Coronado’s Patient Centered Design Team, and running main committee meetings. The Chair is also the contact point for the Planetree Conference. Finance Officer: The Finance Officer handles all aspects of the committee finances. Responsibilities include managing accounting activities, including bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable. Further responsible for providing monthly accounting balance at monthly meetings. Fundraising Officer: The Fundraising Officer leads all fundraising activities for the committee. Responsibilities include organizing, getting approval, and soliciting participation for various fundraising events throughout the year. Media and Communications Officer: The Media and Communications Officer manages all media and outward facing communications for the committee. Responsibilities include promoting events and fundraising, as well as creating digital and print communications. This officer is also a member of the steering committee and acts as liaison to NU’s Marketing department. Student Alumni Officer: The Student Alumni Officer is a graduated member of Planetree Student Committee who desires to stay involved with Planetree and help others learn Person-Centered Care. They provide students with networking opportunities and mentorship beyond school. Vice Chair: The Vice Chair provides guidance for the members and officers of the Planetree Student Committee. Responsibilities include assisting and advising the chair, leading committee meetings in the chair’s absence, leading officer meetings, representing the committee at meetings and other various events, sitting on National University’s Executive Planetree Committee, and managing capstone projects. This position works with officers on a one to one basis to collaborate on new projects and ensure comments, questions, and concerns are addressed. |
